Robotic Liver Resection

Standard port layout. Supine with 10-12 degrees reverse-T, arms out. Right side up if needed. Entry point at infra-umbilical or LUQ. Arm 1 (bipolar) as far lateral as possible and inferior to liver edge prior to cephalic retraction. Camera and scissors/Vessel Sealer/Stapler split difference between 1 and 4. Extraction site at arm 3 or infra-umbilical.

Robotic Right Hepatectomy

Right Hepatectomy for large hemangioma.

Robotic Hilar Dissection

Robotic Transection Technique

Transection performed with combination of monopolar and bipolar electrocautery, the bipolar Vessel Sealer, and stapler as needed. The Vessel Sealer is used in a pre-coagulation technique with energy applied continuously as the jaws close. The cut function may or may not be used/needed depending on the tissue.
